Global Existence of Bell’s Time-Inhomogeneous Jump Process for Lattice Quantum Field Theory

چکیده

We consider the time-inhomogeneous Markovian jump process introduced by John S. Bell [4] for a lattice quantum field theory, which runs on the associated configuration space. Its jump rates, tailored to give the process the quantum distribution |Ψt| at all times t, typically exhibit singularities. We establish the existence of a unique such process for all times, under suitable assumptions on the Hamiltonian or the initial state vector Ψ0. The proof of non-explosion takes advantage of the special role of the |Ψt| distribution.

Some Jump Processes in Quantum Field Theory

A jump process for the positions of interacting quantum particles on a lattice, with time-dependent transition rates governed by the state vector, was first considered by J.S. Bell. We review this process and its continuum variants involving “minimal” jump rates, describing particles as they get created, move, and get annihilated. In particular, we sketch a recent proof of global existence of B...

Some Jump Processes in Quantum Field Theory

A jump process on configuration space whose transition rates are governed by the state vector of a quantum field theory was first considered by J.S. Bell. This process and its variants involving “minimal” jump rates are reviewed, and a recent proof of global existence of Bell’s process is sketched. As an outlook, it is suggested how methods of this proof could be applied to similar global exist...

The Analogue of Bohm–Bell Processes on a Graph

Bohm–Bell processes, of interest in the foundations of quantum field theory, form a class of Markov processes Qt generalizing in a natural way both Bohm’s dynamical system in configuration space for nonrelativistic quantum mechanics and Bell’s jump process for lattice quantum field theories. They are such that at any time t the distribution of Qt is |ψt| 2 with ψ the wave function of quantum th...

Lattice-Plasmon Quantum Features

in this work, some of the lattice plasmon quantum features are examined. Initially, the interaction of the far-field photonic mode and the nanoparticle plasmon mode is investigated. We probe the optical properties of the array plasmon that are dramatically affected by the array geometry. It is notable to mention that the original goal of this work is to examine the quantum feature of the array ...

Reality, measurement and locality in Quantum Field Theory

It is currently believed that the local causality of Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is destroyed by the measurement process. This belief is also based on the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox and on the so-called Bell’s theorem, that are thought to prove the existence of a mysterious, instantaneous action between distant measurements. However, I have shown recently that the EPR argument is remo...
